Got Sufjan Stevens' "Songs for Christmas" box set two years ago, straight from Asthmatic Kitty Records themselves, and it's been on repeat every December since then. A great addition to the music collection and my heart indeed. You should pick this up if you can, it's like 63 songs on 5 separate albums, sufjan family christmas portrait poster, some art, a comic strip by sufjan, and more awesome holiday goodies for only 20 bucks or something along those lines. definitely recommended.
I've decided to post some the originals off this album, because i love them so much and i figure everyone is secretly getting sick of hearing the usual christmas tunes. Then i thought, if everyone's sick of the usual christmas tunes, they definitely need to hear Sufjan's versions.. they'll renew your love for the holiday and make you believe in santa all over again. So i'm leaving that up to you to do, call it your present to me. I threw in his rendition of Amazing Grace to prove my point, and further motivate you to pick up his covers. GOOD STUFF.
